Head coach Guus Hiddink is waiting to find out the extent of knocks sustained by Diego Costa and Eden Hazard as Chelsea crashed out of the Champions League.

The Blues were beaten 2-1 at Stamford Bridge by Paris St Germain, with the French champions progressing to the quarter-finals with a 4-2 aggregate victory, having also knocked Chelsea out of the competition at the same stage last season.

And Hiddink was left with even more to ponder ahead of the FA Cup sixth round tie at Everton at teatime on Saturday, with both goalscorer Costa and Hazard having to be replaced during the second half against PSG.

He told the club's official website: "Hazard has a little problem with his latest hip injury.

"Diego was desperate to play today although he was not 100 per cent fit - he was desperate. I don't know if that has become worse, we will see.

"I hope it isn't worse than before the Stoke game, because in two (three) days we will have to play another game."

Having been knocked out of the Champions League, the main focus for Hiddink is now the FA Cup, with the Dutchman admitting that trying to secure a top-four finish in the Premier League is almost a forlorn hope.

Hiddink, who is set to exit the club this summer, added: "It is difficult to get into fourth in the Premier League, but we knew that and we tried to do our first job, which was to get out of the relegation zone.

"Chelsea are now in a transitional period and they now have to see how to go on to try to regain the lost terrain (to) where they used to be."
