Roy Hodgson has included Charlie Austin, Jamie Vardy and Tom Heaton in his England squad for next month's games against the Republic of Ireland and Slovenia.

QPR striker Austin, Burnley goalkeeper Heaton and Leicester's Vardy have all been called up for the first time for the friendly against Martin O'Neill's side in Dublin on 7th June and the Euro 2016 qualifier against Slovenia in Ljubljana seven days later.

Heaton represented England at youth level from the Under-16s to Under-21s while ex-Clarets striker Austin has scored 17 goals for relegated QPR this term.

Vardy, who starred for FC Halifax Town and Fleetwood Town earlier in his career, played a key role in Leicester's successful battle to avoid an immediate return to the Championship this season.

England beat Slovenia 3-1 at Wembley six months ago and still have a 100 per cent winning record during their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign.

Slovenia are currently second in Group E, having won three and lost two of their five matches.

England squad:

Robert Green (Queens Park Rangers), Joe Hart (Manchester City), Tom Heaton (Burnley).

Ryan Bertrand (Southampton), Gary Cahill (Chelsea), Nathaniel Clyne (Southampton), Kieran Gibbs (Arsenal), Phil Jagielka (Everton), Phil Jones (Manchester United), Chris Smalling (Manchester United).
