QPR manager Harry Redknapp has confirmed an enquiry for Wolves striker Bakary Sako but denied interest in the likes of Yann M'Vila, Rudy Gestede, Aaron Lennon and Emmanuel Adebayor.

The 67-year-old has made no secret of his desire to strengthen his squad in January and avoid the threat of the relegation from the Premier League. The former Tottenham and Portsmouth boss said on Friday he was "looking to bring in one or two" but admitted he was "struggling" to find the right player.

Speaking ahead of his side's trip to Stoke on Saturday, Redknapp told reporters the west London club had asked about Wolves striker Sako.

"Sako? Made an enquiry and that's as far as it went. [Head of Football Operations] Les Ferdinand spoke to the people there - it's not gone any further," he said.

When asked about France midfielder Yann M'Vila, Redknapp replied: "He belongs to Rubin Kazan, that's not going to happen."

Benin international Rudy Gestede has also been linked with a move to Loftus Road, but Redknapp said of the Blackburn striker: "No, not going to happen."

On the prospect of a likely reunion with Aaron Lennon, Redknapp said: "Good player - not spoke to anyone at Tottenham about that.

"We can sit and talk about players all day, but you need to get them over the line. We're nowhere near yet."

Redknapp also said his club were unlikely to afford Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor if he became available in January.

He said: "I don't see that happening. He's an excellent player - you don't play for Arsenal, Real Madrid, Manchester City, Tottenham if you're not. I wouldn't see him leaving Tottenham - it's too expensive a deal for us. We're looking for loans. I don't know if he is available on loan."

On speculation linking Netherlands midfielder Leroy Fer away from Loftus Road, Redknapp added: "Absolute rubbish. Nonsense. I've had no offers for anybody."
