Theo Walcott says Arsenal can challenge for titles this term after being drawn against Championship side Middlesbrough in the FA Cup fifth round.

The defending champions will face Manchester City's conquerors at home in the next round of the FA Cup after they sealed a 3-2 win at Brighton in the fourth round, with Walcott grabbing Arsenal's openers.

Walcott's strike at Brighton was his first since New Year's Day 2014 after a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a cruciate ligament injury, while Mesut Ozil, Olivier Giroud, Laurent Koscielny and Aaron Ramsey have all made returns from respective injury problems in recent weeks.

The England international believes Arsenal now have a squad capable of competing in any competition and he feels the Gunners can challenge for silverware this season.

"It's like having new signings in the dressing room," Walcott is quoted as saying by ESPN. "Having the likes of Mesut back, getting a goal and playing very, very well - the chances will come to get games.

"There is competition for places now and it's going to be a headache for the manager to pick his best 11.

"Those players who have come back have done very well and it just shows we've got a great squad when everyone's completely fit.

"I think we can compete for anything this season now."

Arsenal are 9/4 to win the FA Cup outright, while Liverpool are available at 13/2 ahead of their fourth round replay at Bolton next week.
