Former world number one Tiger Woods says that he is feeling 'really, really good' as he finally prepares to return to action after a long-term injury lay-off.

The 14-time Major champion has not been seen on the course for almost four months after being forced to undergo back surgery, with Woods having also been hampered by knee problems in recent years.

However, as he gets ready to tee off at the Hero World Challenge at Isleworth in Florida, the American is seemingly in buoyant mood.

He told SiriusXM PGA TOUR Radio: "I feel great, I feel really, really good.

"I'm excited that I have had this much time off to heal and get stronger and get my game in order for next year.

"I went through a period there for the last year, year and a half, where I didn't really practice that much.

"I can finally log in the time, log in the minutes, and really delve into a good practice session and really get a lot out of it. That's something that I hadn't been able to do in quite some time."

The Hero World Challenge features a high-quality invited field of 18 players, including DP World Tour champion Henrik Stenson and new Australian Open champion Jordan Spieth.
