Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff believes that the Formula 1 drivers' title battle will still go right down to the final race of the season in Abu Dhabi.

Wolff and Mercedes were crowned constructors' champions following a 1-2 finish from Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg in Russia, with the former now 17 points ahead of his team-mate with just three races to go.

However, Wolff still expects a tussle to the finish, with double points on offer at the final race of the season at Yas Marina.

He told the official F1 website: "The title fight is still wide open because there are 50 points in the last race. But of course we've made a huge leap forward to also win the drivers' title.

"But my guess is that between Lewis and Nico the fight will go down to the wire. I have no illusions about that."

Meanwhile, Rosberg believes that he will have to win in the USA, Brazil and Abu Dhabi if he is to overhaul Hamilton and win his first world title.

After an early mistake forced him to battle back for a superb second place in Russia, Rosberg, 9/4 to win the USA Grand Prix, admitted: "I was in a battle with Lewis and I messed up. It was a bad mistake.

"It was my corner - or I thought it was - but it was the first time arriving there at full speed with full fuel.

"I thought I wouldn't get into the top 10 after that, but the car was amazing. Now I need to continue to attack and I need to look to win them all - the next three races are my favourites."
