Ferrari principal Stefano Domenicali has resigned following his team's dismal start to the 2014 Formula 1 season, with Marco Mattiacci named as his replacement.

Domenicali had been in charge at Ferrari since 2008, with the Black Horse winning the Constructors' Championship in that year.

However, since then success has dried up, with Kimi Raikkonen, now back with the team, the last Ferrari drivers' world champion in 2007.

This season things have got even worse for the Italian giants, with neither Raikkonen nor Fernando Alonso finishing on the podium in any of the first three races of the campaign in Australia, Malaysia and Bahrain.

With new man Mattiaci at the helm, Ferrari will hope for better fortunes at the Chinese Grand Prix this weekend, with Alonso having won the race 12 months ago.

The Spaniard can be backed at 34.00 to triumph at the Shanghai International Circuit again on Sunday 20th April, with Raikkonen 41.00 to take the chequered flag.

Ferrari, whose last race win came at the Spanish Grand Prix in May 2013, are available at 19.00 to provide the winning car in China.

Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo had recently warned that he would do whatever was necessary to get the team back on track, telling reporters: "I would say to you that I will leave no stone unturned to get to where we need to be.

"We'll work day and night to improve and we'll take the decisions that we need to take."
