Manchester United boss David Moyes will keep Chelsea guessing right up to kick-off on Wayne Rooney's possible participation at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

The striker has not featured since New Year's Day, due to a troublesome groin strain, and only returned recently from a week-long stay in Egypt.

Rooney was back at Carrington on Thursday but spent the entire session working separately from the rest of the United squad.

The 28-year-old was able to perform an hour-long routine of running and stretching with a physio before conducting some impressive shooting practice.

He is desperate to play some part against Jose Mourinho's side, although United do not want to run the risk of further aggravating his injury.

Old Trafford chief Moyes, however, has been informed Rooney is currently at around 70 per cent fitness and he can take part in the final training session on Saturday morning.

The England striker is expected to make the trip down to west London, regardless, which will only further keep Mourinho and his team in the dark as to the United forward line.

Danny Welbeck is 9.50 to open the scoring for a United side that is currently available at 2.87 to finish in the top four of the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Chelsea can be backed at 2.25 to keep a clean sheet against United on Sunday and are 8.50 to win the encounter 2-0.
