Red Bull ace Sebastian Vettel has warned the rest of Formula 1 that he is not yet bored, having set a new record of eight consecutive wins in a season.

The German roared to victory at the US Grand Prix in Austin, Texas on Sunday evening to give himself a chance of equalling the all-time record of Albert Ascari of nine Grands Prix wins in a row.

Romain Grosjean took second placed for Lotus, with Mark Webber bringing the second Red Bull home in third, while fifth place was enough for Ferrari's Fernando Alonso to secure second place in the drivers' standings.

And four-time world champion Vettel is clearly far from finished, as he said after taking the 38th chequered flag of his career: "It is not as if I am getting bored. I think I still have quite a lot to do."

Vettel can make it nine victories in a row by winning the final race of the 2013 season in Brazil next Sunday, while he is 5/6 to be crowned world champion again in 2014, with Alonso 11/2 and Lewis Hamilton 4/1.

And the Red Bull star was also keen to pay tribute to the efforts of his team, adding: "One day people might look back and talk about our time and what we have done as a team.

"Yes, the car has been mostly very reliable, but it is the mind-set we have, trying to give it everything we have, not miss a single step - that is what counts.

"People tend to forget that every single weekend is a challenge on its own. To have such an incredible run is very difficult to realise."
