Roberto Martinez has challenged his Wigan Athletic team to continue making history in the coming weeks.

The Latics boss is at pains to insist his players are not being distracted by an upcoming FA Cup semi-final against Millwall at Wembley.

The Lancashire outfit have reached the stage for the first time but still remain rooted in the bottom three of the Premier League. Wigan are 5.50 to win the FA Cup but 2.00 to be relegated this season.

They now face a series of make-or-break cup finals to ensure they preserve their top-flight status for another year.

Wigan host Norwich City this weekend at the DW Stadium in a game they can be backed at 9.00 to win 2-0, and Martinez has left his players with no illusions.

The Spaniard said: "We have some incredible chances in the league to increase our points tally. We have already made history in the FA Cup and need to carry on doing that.

"But the league and the Cup need to go hand in hand for us. Success in one competition should help us achieve our goals in the other."
