Manchester City hope to put to bed a 14-year hoodoo when they travel to face Stoke City in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Saturday.

The Citizens have won just once in seven visits to the Britannia Stadium, that coming back in January 1999 when a Gerard Wiekens goal secured a 1-0 league victory.

Six subsequent visits to the Potteries have yielded four draws and two defeats, a record which City are eager to put right, starting on Saturday.

The Citizens are 6.50 to win the game 1-0 in 90 minutes on Saturday and are 2.25 to keep a clean sheet, while City are 5.00 to win the FA Cup this season.

Having beaten Stoke 1-0 in the FA Cup final in 2011, City midfielder James Milner would love to see his side mount another Wembley charge, telling the Manchester Evening News: "I'm sure Stoke would like to get one over us for the 2011 final.

"But we'll be doing our best to give our supporters another day out at Wembley.

"The Britannia Stadium is not the easiest of venues to go to, but if we can quieten the home crowd early on, then so much the better.

"It should be a really good, old-fashioned cup tie but we're confident, going there on the back of five straight wins."
