It's not yet “squeaky bum time”, as Sir Alex Ferguson likes to describe it, but Ryan Giggs admits Sunday's clash with Chelsea can put Manchester United on the fast-track to title glory once again.

The United winger believes he and his team-mates have now entered a crucial period with upcoming games against the Premier League's bigger names.

Following the Stamford Bridge showdown, they will also have to play Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, while leaders Manchester City are pitted against teams closer to the bottom over the next month.

Giggs is expected to play a part against Andre Villas-Boas' side and there will be a welcome return for striker Wayne Rooney and winger Ashley Young.

The Welshman, who is eyeing a 13th Premier League winners' medal, is well aware United are now playing for high stakes. United can be backed at 2.40 to retain their Premier League title.

Giggs admits: "We have shown reasonable form and, if we can get good results in those type of games, confidence will be sky high. We know that it's a tough run, but these are the type of games you want to be playing in.

"We are not quite at the make-or-break part of the season, but it is an important time, and we know if we win those games, then we will be in good shape and good form going into the run-in.

"We know what is ahead of us and what we have to do."
