Andy Murray will open his bid to finally win the Australian Open with a meeting with Ryan Harrison, with world number one Novak Djokovic in the same half of the draw.

Murray has been beaten in the final in Melbourne in both of the last two years and is 6.00 to secure a first-ever Grand Slam title by going one better this time around.

First-round opponent Harrison, of the United States, is currently ranked at 84 in the world and the 19-year-old and has yet to win a title on the ATP Tour.

In the opposite side of the draw to Murray and Djokovic, both Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer will start out against qualifiers.

Djokovic, 2.25 to retain his Australian Open crown, believes that his success Down Under 12 months ago was the catalyst for an amazing run of results which saw him win Wimbledon and the US Open and become world number one.

He said: "I've been playing the best tennis of my life, especially in the first six months of last year. It probably started here in Australia - I only lost one set and it gave me a lot of confidence.

"Mentally I gained that necessary confidence in 2011. I began to believe I could win the major tournaments along with the big names Federer and Nadal."

Djokovic is 7.00 to match his efforts of 2011 and win three Grand Slam titles this season.
