Queens Park Rangers have parted company with manager Neil Warnock after taking just two points from their last eight Premier League games.

The R's drew 1-1 in the FA Cup third round at League One MK Dons on Saturday and that proved to be Warnock's last game in charge, with Rangers 15/8 to be relegated straight back to the Championship.

QPR are just one point above the drop zone after their slump in recent weeks, a run of poor results which persuaded chairman Tony Fernandes to take action - with Mark Hughes reportedly lined up to take over at Loftus Road.

He told the club's official website: "This decision has been made in the best interests of the club and I can assure everyone that this is not a decision that was made lightly.

"Sadly, our recent run of poor form has seen us slip alarmingly down the table and the board felt it was the right time to make a change.

"Neil has acted with honesty, professionalism and integrity throughout his time at the club and I would personally like to thank him for his significant contribution to QPR over the last 22 months."

The R's travel to Tyneside to take on Newcastle United next weekend and they are 11/4 to earn a point against the Magpies, while the home side are 4/6 to take all three points.
