Sergio Garcia believes he is finally on the way to curing the weaknesses in his game that have plagued him for the last two years.

Garcia will be back in action at this week's Andalucia Masters fresh from his success at the Castello Masters on Sunday - his first win for nearly three years.

The 31-year-old romped to victory by 11 shots on his home course and lifting the title provided further evidence that the European star is back playing the sort of golf that lifted him up to second in the world rankings at one stage.

A dramatic loss of form, particularly with his putter, saw Garcia drop outside the world's top 75 at one stage while he took a two-month break from the game last August, such was the level of his disillusionment.

But his fourth victory on Spanish soil at the weekend lifted him back up to 31st in the standings and Garcia is back enjoying himself on and off the course.

He told European tour.com: "It's been really positive recently, after two really bad years.
"I've had great feelings and at the end of the day the most important thing is what I feel. I've been putting really well since before the US Open, I like the consistency I'm achieving now.

"I think I am going the right way, but that doesn't mean that it's time to relax. I still want to continue enjoying myself on and off of the golf course and now I just want to play well in Valderrama."

Facing him on the Costa del Sol this week will be a field that includes 2010 Race to Dubai winner Martin Kaymer, Englishman Justin Rose, making a rare appearance in Europe, and defending champion Graeme McDowell.

Garcia is 7.50 to win again at Valderrama, with Kaymer 13.00 and McDowell 21.00.
